Some people may say that the author and story line makes all the difference, but the characters and the roles they play in the novel is what touches the hearts of the reader. It helps us imagine and sometimes connect. Whether it be their feelings or emotions we are able to connect to at least one of these characters.

- A poetic gentleman uses metaphors to describe himself and his feelings.

- Despite the fact he only has one real leg, he lives life to its fullest
